Legality, realism, delivery
Is prop money legal in Australia?
Yes. Reproducing Australian banknote designs is legal under the Crimes (Currency) Act 1981 provided the reproduction differs in size from genuine currency by at least 25%, is printed one-sided or otherwise clearly non-genuine, and is marked as not legal tender — the RBA publishes reproduction guidelines covering exactly this. Every note we sell is produced to meet these requirements.
Can prop money be used as real currency?
No. Every note is clearly marked NOT LEGAL TENDER, is a different size to genuine Australian currency, and does not replicate banknote security features. It is sold for film, theatre, education, and novelty use only.
Do you offer custom serial numbers?
No. Serial numbers are system-assigned placeholders on every note — we do not offer buyer-specified serial numbers.
